Obligara is the first compliance platform to deliver a true transition from ISO 27001 to SOC 2 as a core capability, with embedded AI that does the compliance groundwork, including gap analysis, readiness assessment and design, so teams go into the audit prepared.
MONTREAL, QC / ACCESS Newswire / July 15, 2026 / Manos Software Group, one of the decentralized operating units of Valsoft Corporation, today announced the launch of Obligara, a compliance management platform for organizations operating in regulated environments. Developed by portfolio company Bold Communications, Obligara runs ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and SOC 2 in a single workspace, with embedded AI woven throughout the product, a working example of the AI-first approach Manos takes to software investments.
While many tools treat AI as a chatbot added on the side, Obligara was built AI-first. Five AI interfaces are built into the foundation of the workspace: assess compliance readiness criterion by criterion, perform gap analysis across all controls with the evidence cited behind each judgment, design the long-form fields a program actually needs, such as: B. CAPA root causes, risk treatments, management review inputs, and the SOC 2 system description, and suggest bulk ISO 27001 to SOC 2 control mappings. The result is continuous readiness rather than annual turmoil, eliminating weeks of duplicate evidence work.
Beneath the intelligence lies real depth. All 93 Annex A controls of ISO 27001:2022 are instantiated per workspace, and the 71-entry crosswalk transfers this evidence directly to the 71 SOC 2 Trust Services criteria. The platform also models monitoring through the NSI Alarm Receiving Center (ARC), Bold Communications signature domain and a schema untouched by most compliance tools, alongside ISO 9001, Cyber Essentials and a common process map, evidence repository and audit trail.
Obligara reflects how Manos builds: not by replacing what works, but by turning decades of domain expertise into leverage. The teams behind Obligara have spent years focused on quality, safety and compliance monitoring, and Obligara takes this hard-earned operational knowledge and makes intelligence the foundation on which a new product is built. It joins a growing group of AI companies across the Manos portfolio, including Claio, StableTrack, Luminee and Fulltime, each born from a real operational challenge and integrated into a product that serves its own market.
“The best software companies already have something AI can’t: deep domain knowledge and years of structured data,” said Joe Farruggia, managing partner of Manos Software Group. “Obligara is exactly the type of company we wanted to build. It leverages Bold Communications’ expertise in compliance and monitoring and makes intelligence the foundation, not an afterthought. This is what AI-first investing looks like in practice: experience converted into leverage for the next thirty years.”
The story continues
“Every company today needs to demonstrate that it takes quality and safety seriously, but the tools to do so remain complicated and disjointed. With the support of Bold Communications and the broader Valsoft group, we built Obligara so that every company, not just those with a dedicated compliance department, can get on top of these standards in one place and stay there,” said Marc Cooke, portfolio manager at Valsoft Corporation and managing director at Bold Communications.
AI-first, by nature
Obligara’s embedded AI runs read-only within the data boundary of each workspace and is connected to the core workflow: gap analysis, a per-criteria readiness analyzer, a control-to-criteria mapping suggestor, a workspace chat assistant that cites live data sets, and form fillers that design from real data. Because the AI is built in from the start, it works with the same controls, evidence and audit trails that the rest of the platform uses.
Three frameworks, modeled correctly, plus NSI ARC
ISO 9001:2015 (35 clauses, automatically enabled in each workspace), ISO 27001:2022 (38 clauses and all 93 Annex A controls), and SOC 2 (71 trust services criteria, Type I and Type II audit periods) are each instantiated with their actual clauses and controls. NSI ARC surveillance and Cyber Essentials are modeled in parallel, allowing an inspection to meet many criteria across frameworks, with evidence collected once and reused everywhere.
