DroneShield Q3 Software Release Sharpens Counter-UAS Performance Against Faster, More Evasive Drone Threats

The Q3 software release of DroneShield improves UAS defense performance against faster, more volatile drone threatsThe quarterly software release improves detection, tracking and interoperability across the DroneShield ecosystem, ensuring better operational capability of deployed systems.

Sydney, Australia – July 6, 2026DroneShield (ASX:DRO)a global leader in advanced, AI-powered drone defense solutions, today announced its third quarter 2026 software release, providing measurable improvements in RF detection performance, tracking responsiveness and operational capability of all deployed DroneShield solutions.

The drone threat is evolving faster than at any time since we entered the market, and this publication is a direct response to the challenges operators face in this space:Faster, more agile threats. FPV and coordinated multi-drone activities reduce the time operators have to detect, identify and respond, placing emphasis on the speed of route updates.Frequency agile and evasive emitters. To avoid detection, attackers switch between different frequency bands and use lower performance or less common protocols. This increases the need for greater sensitivity and range.Precise cueing. Operators are increasingly required to coordinate effectors, cameras and complementary sensors onto a target, so localization accuracy now has a direct impact on mission outcomes.More contested, disjointed environments. Deployments are moved to GNSS-degraded remote and air-gapped environments, increasing the resiliency and offline capabilities of this release. Each quarterly release combines new features with firmware enhancements that improve operational effectiveness while increasing the value of hardware already in the field. Testing compared to the previous Q2 release showed significant gains across our entire RF sensor portfolio. The results depend on the drone type and operating frequency.

“Our software roadmap is based on operational results,” he said Angus Harris, Chief Technology Officer at DroneShield. “Our quarterly releases focus on measurable technical improvements that operators can implement immediately. Whether faster tracking, increased location accuracy or new operational features, each release strengthens the performance of the systems in use while building on the improvements from previous quarters.”

The Q3 release introduces several significant feature enhancements to DroneSentry-C2, including: Air-gapped updates: Customers on disconnected or highly secure networks can update independently using removable media, reducing reliance on remote support and simplifying lifecycle management for classified and sovereign environments. Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFF (COG) Maps: Load your own offline map into DroneSentry-C2, for greater flexibility in remote locations, abroad, or in environments where commercial maps are unsuitable. Advanced Interoperability: SentryCompass support, providing reliable positioning through dual GNSS receivers with inertial navigation fallback. Robin Radar IRIS On-The-Move support for mobile radar operations.Evica PinPoint Searchlight support for improved visual target identification in low light conditions.Broader third-party sensor support via the DroneSentry-C2 generic sensor framework.Additional language support: Dutch, German, Ukrainian and Japanese. These additions provide customers with greater flexibility to integrate DroneShield solutions into existing sensor architectures while further expanding operational capability.

The third quarter 2026 software release is now available through the DroneShield Access Portal to eligible customers with active subscriptions.
