At this week’s AI Summit in San Francisco, South Korean President Jae Myung Lee and some of the country’s top business leaders and researchers will join NVIDIA and ecosystem partners to showcase Korea’s AI advances.
Building on NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang Visited Korea last monthThis week’s discussions and announcements advance the country’s broader push to expand Korea’s AI infrastructure and expertise toward becoming a global center for AI innovation.
At the beginning: NVIDIA and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) announced today a joint AI research laboratory at the KAIST Kim Jaechul Graduate School of AI in Seoul, dedicated to advancing agent AI for South Korea. It is the first joint AI laboratory between a Korean university and a global technology company.
The collaboration will establish a robust academic AI research program that brings together NVIDIA’s full-stack AI expertise. NVIDIA Nemotron Open Models and NVIDIA AI Cloud collaborate in computing with the world-class scientific talent at KAIST, one of Asia’s leading research universities.

Korean technology leaders visit the NVIDIA Santa Clara Campus

NVIDIA and SK celebrate long-standing collaboration over dinner
On the eve of the summit, Huang, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, and the teams from SK hynix, SK Telecom and NVIDIA met for dinner in Woodside, California – as seen in the image above. For Korean business leaders, it was a warm welcome to Silicon Valley on a warm summer evening.
NVIDIA and SK – who have a long-standing partnership – announced in June an expanded collaboration to jointly develop storage for NVIDIA platforms spanning AI infrastructure, personal AI and physical AI.
Also in June, SK Telecom announced plans Building AI infrastructure to advance Korea’s innovations in physical AI, robotics and more.
