Tesla (TSLA) has started sending large waves of its Full Self-Driving (Supervised) Lite AI software update to HW3 vehicles with the latest point release version 2026.20.6.11.
Owners of old Tesla vehicles equipped with Hardware 3 (HW3) have been receiving the FSD v14 Lite (2026.20.6.11) update since Tuesday, July 21 (detailed rollout status and official release notes below).
The company’s head of AI, Ashok Elluswamy, had announced that FSD v14 Lite version 2026.20.6.10 will be widely released. But Tesla decided to do a quick bug fix update and started pushing the new point version 2026.20.6.11 to a larger number of Tesla HW3 vehicles.
Interestingly, Tesla has merged the firmware version for FSD v14 Lite and FSD v14.3.6, namely 2026.20.6.11. This shows that HW3 Tesla cars with the 2026.20.6.11 update have the latest distilled features as HW4 cars on FSD v14.3.6.
However, HW3 vehicles will never be as powerful as HW4 vehicles due to computational limitations for the large FSD AI model. The FSD v14.3.6 update is intended exclusively for vehicles with Hardware 4 (HW4/AI4), while the FSD v14 Lite is intended for HW3 Teslas.

FSD v14 Lite (2026.20.6.11) Rollout status
The FSD v14 Lite (2026.20.6.11) update was first discovered on July 21st. However, on the first day of its release, it was distributed to a very limited number of Tesla HW3 vehicles.
On July 22, Tesla began rolling it out to more users. Today (July 23rd) an even bigger wave broke out. The following graphic shows the steady increase in the distribution of over-the-air (OTA) software updates for FSD v14 Lite (2026.20.6.11).
Looking closely at tracking data from TeslaFi.com and Tessie notes that Tesla is currently only rolling out the FSD v14 Lite (2026.20.6.11) update for its HW3 customer cars in the US and Canada.
As of this writing, around 10% of the Tesla HW3 fleet in the US and Canada has received FSD v14 Lite (2026.20.6.11).
It looks like Tesla HW3 car owners in Europe will have to wait a little longer for the FSD v14 Lite update, although HW4 owners in 5 European countries are enjoying full self-driving on their cars.

Official Release Notes: FSD (Supervised) v14 Lite (2026.20.6.11 for HW3 Tesla vehicles)
FSD (Supervised) v14 Lite (2026.20.6.11) includes:
- The intelligence of HW4 V14 distilled into HW3. This means HW3 can learn how to deal with scenarios directly using HW4 V14. This process unlocks the improvements made to HW4, including reinforcement learning (RL) and offline models for HW3.
- Improved proactive and reactive responsiveness in a variety of categories, including navigation handling, merges and forks, pedestrian interactions, traffic lights, and vehicle clipping scenarios.
- Improved overall comfort in nominal scenarios through fewer false deceleration, smoother steering and more consistent lane centering.
- Introduction of parking, unparking and reversing functions.
- Added arrival options that allow you to choose where you want FSD to park: in a parking lot, on the street, in a driveway, or on the side of the road.
- Speed profiles are now available at any time to further customize driving style preferences.
Note: The release notes have not changed since the last release.

Start self-driving out of the park
When the driver requirements are met, a button will appear on the screen. Driver requirements include (but are not limited to):
- The driver sits in the driver’s seat
- The driver is wearing a seatbelt
- The cabin camera is free
When confirming the brake, the driver must press and release the brake pedal before FSD (Supervised) can be activated. When brake confirmation is disabled, Self-Driving can apply the brakes and activate FSD (Supervised) by pressing the button. If the driver detection requirements are not met or FSD (Supervised) does not detect a driver, you must press and release the brake pedal to confirm. You can activate the brake confirmation in Self-driving > Confirm brake.
This feature does not make your vehicle autonomous and you must remain alert and ready to take over the vehicle at any time. Only a licensed driver authorized to drive the vehicle should be allowed access to the driver’s seat when the vehicle is not in Theater or Arcade mode.
User interface improvements
Adjust settings such as speed profile and arrival options directly from the self-driving visualization in the center display.
