Every week “Podlandia: AO RewatchIn Armisen and Brownstein, Armisen and Brownstein revisit their cult TV series that chronicles the hipster trend of bird decorations, one-of-a-kind bicycles and intensive mustache grooming that defined Oregon’s capital for a generation. With special visits from the mayor (Kyle MacLachlan) and other beloved Portland residents, including Aimee Mann and “Portlandia” director and co-creator Jonathan Krisel, the hosts recount the struggles, joys and surprises every episode.
“With the ‘Portlandia’ rewatch podcast, we hope to continue the conversations we started when the show first aired. Conversations about community, how place shapes and defines us, how much of life is mere performance, and how absurdity is often the best way to understand the world,” said Carrie Brownstein, co-host of “Podlandia.” Rewatching these episodes also made me realize how incredibly funny Fred is; We enjoyed hanging out and reminiscing, singing the praises of the cast, crew and the city itself, and having a new way to connect with our audience.”
“It was so much fun re-watching those ‘Portlandia’ episodes. I actually laughed, which is weird to say that about something I’m in. Carrie made me laugh a lot, maybe that’s what I’m saying. It was all enlightening and brought back so many memories of filming in beautiful Portland. Then being able to sit with Carrie and talk about everything was another level of fun and connection. I’m so glad we got the chance have,” said Fred Armisen, co-host of “Podlandia.”
