Padraig Harrington simply had too much firepower at the US Senior Open over the weekend, shooting 66-66 at Scioto Country Club to claim his fifth win at this major championship in the last five years. He also won in 2022 and last year.
The 54-year-old Irishman now owns four senior majors and has placed first or second in nine of them since 2022. Harrington shot a total of 12-under 268 and topped Stewart Cink by four strokes. Cink won the other two senior majors this year, the Senior PGA and the Tradition.
Harrington earned $800,000 from the total budget of $4 million. Cink took home $432,000 for second place. Other notable finishes include Ian Poulter (fourth), Pat Perez (T-8), Henrik Stenson (T-11), Ernie Els (T-11), Michael Block (T-31) and Haymes Snedeker, Brandt’s brother, who tied for 36th and was the worst amateur.
